Climate change has always been a hot topic of discussion for more than a decade due to the dynamic weather patterns. While on the other hand technology is advancing unavoidably overtaking the old lifestyle to an extend of old practices becoming less valued. This study is trying to intersect the old that is Indigenous Knowledge System (IKS) and the new Conventional Science (CS) to adjust to weather change in Muzarabani district. The goal of the research is to explore ways to integrate IK and science technology towards adaptation of CC effects in Muzarabani District. The objectives include climate-related indigenous knowledge used by the people in Muzarabani, climate related conventional knowledge in Muzarabani District, challenges linked to the co-existence of IKS and conventional climate science and suggested appropriate ways of integrating IKS and Science technology in Muzarabani. The reviewed literature shows detailed information about climate change and it impacts, the advantages of combining IKS and CS and the challenges of combining the two spheres. The results findings show that language barrier is one of the challenges to integrate IKS and conventional knowledge with 56% understanding IKS only as it is presented in mother language. Only 20% relayed only on conventional knowledge which presents data in English which is more reliable. Only 15% were able to understand both IKS and CS strongly believe in their IK while at the same time they are not rigid to move on with technology which result in them being further resistant to CC impacts comparing to others. A number of recommendations were suggested which included capacity building and knowledge sharing, community engagement and participation and continuous monitoring and evaluation.
