Artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) activities have a considerable negative impact on the environment, particularly in the Kitsiyatota district of Bindura. This research seeks to examine and comprehend the environmental and ecological consequences of these mining activities. It specifically investigates the severity of ASM's impacts on land usage, water sources, ecology, and air quality. The study also assesses the efficiency of current environmental rules and policies in mitigating these effects and proposes alternative policy and regulatory adjustments to lessen ASM's environmental fo The study is organized around four main goals: to investigate the environmental effects of ASM, to assess the scope and severity of these effects, to identify the obstacles that artisanal gold miners confront, and to provide solutions to alleviate the environmental impacts.
