A purposive sampling technique was utilized to select 62 participants, employing questionnaires and key informant interviews. The socio-ecological systems of Guꭇuve Mashonaland Central Zimbabwe are facing significant challenges due to climate change. This review of literature aims to investigate the effects of climate change on the socio-ecological systems of Guruve Mashonaland Central Zimbabwe, assess the local adaptive capacity and consequences of climate-induced incidents and examine the vulnerability context of Guruve district in Mashonaland Central Zimbabwe. The study reveals that climate change is causing a rise in temperatures and alterations in rainfall patterns, resulting introeduced crop yields and food insecurity in the region. Climate change is also causing water scarcity and a decrease in water quality, leading to negative impacts on human health, hygiene and livelihood activities in the area. The adaptive capacity of the locals is constrained by a shortage of resources and infastructure, as well as insufficient information and awareness regarding climate change and its consequences. Community-based adaptation methods, such as dry planting, conservation farming and water harvesting, can assist in enhancing local adaptive capacity and building community resilience to climate change. The vulnerability to climate change is influenced by several factors, including socio-economic status. In conclusion, vulnerability is intensified by the lack of access to resources and infꭇastꭇuctuꭇe, as well as the insufficient information and awareness regarding climate change and its consequences. To enhance community resilience in Guꭇuve Mashonaland Centꭇ al Zimbabwe, the government and organizations should consider adaptive strategies that meet the unique needs and perspectives of local communities. Ultimately, a more comprehensive and coordinated response is necessary to tackle the intricate challenges posed by climate change in Guꭇuve Mashonaland Central Zimbabwe.
