The study sought to analyze the effectiveness of integrated financial management system on
revenue collection. The research was undertaken as a case study of ZINARA. The objectives of
the study were to identify the accounting system in use for toll fees collection, to analyze the
flow of integrated accounting information from toll gates to the SAP system and to determine
solutions to revenue leakages as a result of silo accounting system. The research methodology
entailed the use of a descriptive case study research design. Simple random sampling was used to
select a sample from each strata and stratified random sampling was employed to select
respondents from the departments. The sample consisted of 30 employees including both
managerial and non-managerial. Data was obtained through questionnaires and interviews. This
data was presented in form of graphs, pie charts and tables. From the research findings, it was
established that the results suggested that the organization has integrated financial management
system on revenue collection although it is not fully administered. The study recommends that
internal auditors should continuously investigate the integrated financial information systems as
well as financial reporting system so that appropriate recommendations are made on time for
action to be undertaken and the ZINARA management should establish clear reporting structures
and performance of internal control system being published in various reports to both internal and external stakeholders, such as through periodic accountability reports. The organization
should develop a mechanism to incorporate relevant feedback from the different stakeholders into their internal control system - Date
