- Abstract
- This study investigates the sustainability of Child Care Support Programs (CCSPs) in Zimbabwe, with a specific focus on Glory to Glory Child Care Center in Norton. The main objective is to assess the sustainability of CCSPs in Zimbabwe, determining the sustainable components of CCSPs in Norton, identifying factors that contribute to sustainable CCSPs at Glory to Glory, and examining factors that influence the sustainability of child care projects in Norton. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining questionnaires and interviews for data collection. The findings reveal that community engagement, capacity building, and cultural sensitivity are crucial components of sustainable CCSPs in Norton. However, challenges such as inadequate financial management, limited resource mobilization, and insufficient policy support hinder the long-term sustainability of CCSPs. The study recommends that CCSPs prioritize community-led initiatives, staff training, and cultural contextualization to enhance sustainability. Furthermore, policy advocacy and financial management training are essential for ensuring the long-term viability of CCSPs. Future research should focus on developing innovative strategies for sustaining CCSPs, fostering collaborative partnerships between CCSPs, and promoting policy support for sustainable child care support programs.
