The main aim of the study was to analyze the effectiveness of revenue collection strategies employed by local authorities in enhancing financial position using Bindura Municipality (B.M) as a case study. The main objectives of the research was to outline the revenue collection strategies employed by Bindura Municipality, to assess the effectiveness of revenue collection strategies employed in enhancing financial position of Bindura Municipality and to recommend on the revenue collection strategies that can be employed by Bindura Municipality. The researcher used quantitative approach which involves primary sources of data. To obtain primary data the researcher used questionnaires and the questionnaires were constructed using 5-point likert scale and distributed to 36 sample size of Bindura Municipality treasury department. To administer questionnaires the researcher used delivery and collection. In addition to that the researcher also used probability sampling technique which includes stratified random sampling technique. Data was presented and analyzed using SPSS version 21. The researcher used descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze and interpret data. The research findings revealed that Bindura Municipality employed debt collection, debt swaps and payment plans regularly as revenue collection strategies and outsourcing is not employed regularly. The research found that debt collection, payment plans, outsourcing and debt swaps are effective revenue collection strategies. The study found that outsourcing, debt collection and payment plans have positive correlation with financial position and debt swaps has negative correlation with financial position. Based on the research findings the researcher recommended that the management of Bindura Municipality must employ privatization and outsourcing must be employed regularly.
