- Abstract
- The study's objective was to evaluate the relationship between agriculture and Zimbabwe's economic development in light of the SDG goal. The study did this by using time series data that covered the years 1991 through 2020. We used the ARDL model developed by Pesaran, Shin, and Schmidt (2001) to estimate the model's unknowable parameters. Agricultural output, exports, population, inflation, and capital served as the control variables. According to the study, agriculture contributes to economic expansion. Therefore, the aim is to see to what extent does it really impact the economy of the nation. More so, this study brings out the recommendations on policies to the central government of Zimbabwe. For example fostering the use of the pfumvudza programme effectively. In order to promote agricultural productivity, the report advised the government to develop measures like input subsidies.
