- An investigation into the causes of increased smuggling activities. A Case Study of Chirundu One Stop Border Post and Areas Along Zambezi River for the Period Of 2022-2024.
- Abstract
- Smuggling is a complex issue with significant economic, social, and security implications. This quantitative study examines the causes and consequences of smuggling, including economic disparities, corruption, and geographical factors. A survey of 40 participants reveals that these factors contribute to smuggling, and current border control measures are ineffective. The study concludes that comprehensive policies, including increased border security, cooperation, and addressing corruption, are necessary to combat smuggling. Policymakers and law enforcement agencies must prioritize a multifaceted approach to reduce smuggling and mitigate its implications.
