- Abstract
- This study sought to examine the effects caused by the COVID 19 pandemic on rural women and girls. The objective of the study were to assess the challenges faced by rural women and girls during the COVID 19 pandemic in Guruve, to assess why women and girls were the most affected gender during the COVID pandemic in Guruve, to assess the economic, environmental and social COVID 19 impact on rural households with women breadwinners in Guruve, to proper strategies that can be utilised to improve lives of women and girls to gain their lives back. The study also discussed the impacted caused by COVID pandemic economic, social effects. For data presentations tables were used for data presentation. The study employs a mixed methods approach quantitative survey and qualitative interviews to gather data on socio- economic, health and educational impacts experienced by female population during the pandemic.
