- The study focused on investigating the intervention strategies to promote well-being of Post Leprosy Residents in Leprosarium Centre in Zimbabwe using Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre in Mutoko as the case study. Developing a model that promotes health and well-being of Post Leprosy Residents at Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre in Zimbabwe was the aim of the study. The objectives of the study were to explore the challenges faced by Post Leprosy Residents in Mutemwa Leprosarium Centre, to examine available intervention strategies for Post Leprosy Residents in Mutemwa Leprosarium Centre, to analyse the challenges faced by Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre Institution in promoting well-being of Post Leprosy Residents and to develop a model of promoting good health and well- being of Post Leprosy Residents. The research was a qualitative research guided by phenomenological interpretive as a research design. Non probability sampling techniques of purposive sampling with a sample size of 18 participants were used with 15 Post Leprosy Residents and 3 key informants. In-depth interviews with Post Leprosy Residents were used as data collection method and in-depth interview guide was used as a tool for data collection. Focus group discussions with Post Leprosy Residents were used as a data collection method and focus group discussions guide was a data collection tool. Key informant interviews were employed as a data collection method and key informant interview guide were used with a Nurse, a Caregiver and a Social worker as a tool for data collection tool. The key informants were important because they had relevant information for the study. Thematic analysis was used to analyse data. The findings of the study were Post leprosy residents face a plethora of physical, social and psychological challenges which need a combination of psychological support through counselling, physical rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and institutional care and support. Massive social support considering bottom up approach taking note of participatory approach, comprehensive recovery and support system model integrating Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre in collaboration with social workers identifying the needs of community members and designing intervention strategies based on their needs promotes good health and well-being. Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre, Social workers, Ministry of Health, Non-Governmental Organisations and community leaders can consider securing funding towards health and well-being support for leprosy clients through fundraising activities, grant application, proposal writing and partnership identifying potential funding sources. Therefore, comprehensive physical, occupational, psychological rehabilitation, spiritual and instrumental support is essential to achieve overall well-being of Post leprosy Residents.
