- Abstract
- The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of drug rehabilitation initiatives on affected rehabilitants in Bindura with the focus of the Chipadze Detoxification and rehabilitation centre. The study aimed to examine the impact of drug rehabilitation initiatives physical and mental health outcomes, evaluate the success rates of initiatives in achieving long term recovery and rehabilitation outcomes, and identity factors contributing to the success or failure of initiatives. In-depth interviews and focus groups were conducted with rehabilitants and staff to gather rich contextual insights. The findings highlighted the significance of comprehensive treatment approaches, supportive staff, support services, community engagement, post rehabilitation and strong aftercare support in facilitating successful recovery and rehabilitation outcomes. The study’s results contribute to evidence –based policy recommendations for improving drug rehabilitation services in Bindura.
