- Abstract
- The increasing demand for secure, reliable, and efficient attendance systems in academic institutions has led to the integration of biometric and mobile technologies. This project presents the design and implementation of a Mobile Biometric Attendance System aimed at improving student verification and attendance tracking through fingerprint authentication and geolocation services. Developed using Android (Katlin), the system leverages biometric APIs for secure Fingerprint-based check-in and check-out, GPS and geofencing for location-aware attendance validation, and Room Database for local data storage. Firebase is also integrated for cloud-based backups and synchronization. The system includes voice-guided assistance using Text-to-Speech (TTS) to improve accessibility and user experience. As we are living in a digital world, this application will improve the way students can be tracked when they get to the designated campus.
