Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of procurement regulations and policies in ensuring transparency at Mvurwi Hospital. The objectives included assessing transparency levels, compliance with regulations, and identifying factors influencing transparency. A structured questionnaire was utilized to collect data, with a sample of 20 respondents from various departments within the hospital. The findings revealed a moderate level of transparency, indicating that while stakeholder involvement was positive, public reporting of procurement activities was notably low. Compliance with regulations was generally good, supported by effective training programs, but there was a clear need for improved communication strategies and audit frequency. Factors influencing transparency highlighted the significant role of stakeholder feedback, emphasizing its importance. The study highlighted both strengths and weaknesses in Mvurwi Hospital's procurement practices. It recommended implementing regular public reporting mechanisms, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and increasing the frequency of audits. The hospital could improve transparency, compliance, and overall procurement effectiveness, ultimately building greater trust with stakeholders and enhancing operational integrity by addressing these areas.
