- Abstract
- This study investigates how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enhance mathematics teaching and learning in primary school. It examines the effects of different ICT tools, such as laptops, calculators and printed media on learners’ mathematical understanding, involvement and performance. In order to collect data in several primary schools, the study employed a mixed-methods methodology that included questionnaires interviews, and classroom observations. The findings demonstrate that including ICT into mathematics instruction improves students' motivation, promotes individualized learning opportunities, and increases their overall understanding of mathematical topics. But the research also points out major obstacles that prevent successful implementation, such as the need for teacher training, adequate power and sufficient ICT tools. In summary, ICT has the potential to transform mathematics instruction, but strategic investments in infrastructure and training are necessary to get the most out of its benefits. This study advances our knowledge of the critical role of ICT in contemporary educational practices and makes suggestions to policymakers and teachers on how to enhance Mathematics teaching and learning.
