- Abstract
- This study sought to investigate the perceptions of Ordinary level Biology students at Hondoyapera Secondary School in Chipinge District regarding ICT-based learning in Biology education. The population consisted of all Ordinary Level Biology students at the school, with 60 students selected through simple random sampling. Prior research has indicated that the perceptions of Ordinary level Biology students on ICT integration in the subject have significant implications for their future educational and career trajectories. The study employed a qualitative approach by including an in-depth interview and focus groups with students. The study revealed a positive attitude towards ICT based learning, with students citing enhanced visualization, interaction, and engagement, but also challenges such as limited access to devices, internet connectivity issues, and inadequate teacher training. Students suggested a balanced integration of ICT based learning with traditional methods to optimize benefits. Recommendations include investing in ICT infrastructure, teacher capacity building, and digital resources to enhance Biology education.
