Abstract

This study investigates the impact of logistics cluster coordination on effective humanitarian aid delivery, using the El Niño response in Zimbabwe as a case study. The research addresses a pressing problem of inadequate coordination in large-scale disaster responses, which often hampers timely and efficient aid delivery. Guided by three objectives—(1) to establish the impact of logistics cluster coordination on humanitarian supply chain agility, (2) to ascertain its effect on effectiveness, and (3) to determine its role in efficiency—the study holds significance for improving disaster response strategies. The study targeted 103 individuals from humanitarian organizations, logistics clusters, and government agencies. The study was informed by the Supply Chain Resilience Model, Resource Optimization Model, and Collaborative Logistics Model. A descriptive survey design with a quantitative approach was employed. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed via STATA, using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that coordination significantly enhances agility, effectiveness, and efficiency of humanitarian responses during climate-induced disasters like El Niño.
