The Impact of supply chain visibility on service delivery at Mutare city council
- Abstract
- The present study explored the effect of supply chain visibility on service delivery within Mutare City Council in the backdrop and context of the study that emphasized supply chain visibility in local authorities. The study cited literature on the issue to give various scholars' views an hypotheses about supply chain visibility, its effect on service delivery, cost savings, and satisfaction of citizens. The research applied mixed methodology in which quantitative and qualitative methods were applied with a sample of 120 subjects drawn through random sampling from various departments within the council. Findings revealed that there are no established practices within the council to enhance supply chain visibility to impact service delivery, and those to be enhanced such as access to information, feedback loops, and ICT implementation.The research concludes that increased visibility in the supply chain can result in lower cost, efficiency, and enhanced citizen satisfaction, and it advises that Mutare City Council invests in supply chain visibility practice, uses ICT solutions, and has propefeedback channels to enhance service delivery.
