- Abstract
- The purpose of this research was to find the application of pragmatic principles to teaching and learning of mathematics at “o” level in three secondary schools in Mavi Rira Cluster of Chegutu District. The adopted a descriptive survey research design. The researcher used both purposive and random sampling. A total of 40 students and 12 teachers were used as the sample for the study. Questionnaires, observations, and interviews were utilized in gathering data from the respondents. The collected data was presented using tables, bar graphs and pie charts. The research revealed that, there is need for teachers to involve the use of real-life examples, teaching should be from simple to complex, varying teaching methods and be able to use each method effectively. Recommendations set were that teachers should get in-service training on how teachers should have in service training programs to familiarize themselves with various
