Abstract

This research investigates the impact of increasing cyclone frequency on food security among rural households. The study is emphasizing the importance of socio-economic factors that influence resilience. It discourses the critical issue of food insecurity intensified by climate change. This poses significant risks to vulnerable populations. A quantitative research design was employed and the study used both utilizing linear and binary logistic regression analyses to examine the core relation between various demographic and economic factors and food security outcomes. Structured surveys were done for the data collection process and was conducted with a sample of rural households in cyclone-prone areas. The findings revealed that male-headed households, higher levels of education, larger farm sizes, and more frequent meals were positively associated with food security. Larger household size tended to have a negative impact. These results give emphasis to the need for targeted interventions aimed at enhancing resilience in affected communities. Key conclusions designate the need to overlook at gender disparities. Such would lead to improving access to education could significantly improve food security outcomes. From such insights, recommendations are made based on stakeholders, including policymakers and NGOs. This will promote gender equality, develop educational programs, and enhance resource access for vulnerable households. This research provides significant insights into the correlation between climate change and food security, guiding future strategies to support rural communities facing environmental challenges.
