This action research study, employing a qualitative approach, explores the benefits of using micro science kits in developing practical skills among Biology students. A sample of 19 participants, including 16 students and 3 teachers from Matsine Secondary School in Zimbabwe, were involved in the study. Through in-depth interviews, observations, and questionnaire, the research gathered rich, contextual data on the effectiveness of micro science kits in enhancing learners' engagement, practical skills development, and understanding of biological concepts. The findings reveal that micro science kits provide hands-on opportunities for students to practice core biological techniques, fostering confidence and deeper understanding. The kits were found to be cost-effective, democratizing access to practical biology education, particularly in under-resourced schools. Students and teachers reported significant benefits, including improved practical skills, scientific inquiry skills, and increased learner engagement. The study's results have implications for science education, highlighting the potential of micro science kits to address inequalities in education and enhance the quality of science education, particularly in resource-constrained settings.
