- Abstract
- Spraying is one of the key links in terms of reducing losses in farming since it directly affects the quality and quantity of produce as well as the marketing of produce. Self-propelled spraying machines are quite expensive and uneconomical to use over a small piece of land hence small scale farmers in Zimbabwe cannot afford them. The main objective of this study was to design a spraying machine which is portable, efficient and cheap to make for local farmers. The design process involved identifying the requirements and constraints of the machine, selecting appropriate materials, and creating a prototype.
