- Abstract
- This study was conceived on the realization that despite efforts to integrate ICT in the teaching and learning of biology in secondary schools, use of ICT is still very low among secondary schools in Zvimba. It is set assess the teacher’s experiences on the use of ICT in the teaching and learning of Biology at Ordinary level. The study employed a case study approach where a total number of 16 participants; 3 school heads, 10Biology teachers and 3 heads of departments of the three selected schools were involved. Data collection was achieved through use of questionnaires and structured interviews. Microsoft Excel was used to analyze the data collected. Main findings of the study showed that some teachers are integrating ICT in the teaching and learning of Biology whilst other are not due to unavailability of ICT gadgets as well as lack of technical knowhow in the selected schools. Therefore, the study recommends improved accessibility to computers and adequate training on use of computer technologies as well as development of a policy framework to guide on the path to effective computer integration into instruction process.
