- Abstract
- This study investigated the impact of instructional media and technology on Biology learning and achievement among Ordinary Level learners. A mixed methods approach was employed, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods. A survey questionnaire was administered to two of the Biology teachers and an experimental design involving a control group and an experimental group were conducted with twenty eight learners which was used to investigate the impact of instructional media and technology. The findings revealed that instructional media and technology have a positive impact on learners' understanding, engagement, motivation, and achievement in Biology. Teachers' perceptions indicated that instructional media and technology enhance learner - centred instruction, promote collaborative learning and facilitate assessment and feedback. Learners reported increased interest and enjoyment in Biology lessons, and enhanced skills in critical thinking and problem -solving. The study recommend the integration of instructional media and technology into Biology education to improve learning outcomes and achievement. It also highlights the need for teacher training and support, infrastructure improvement and continuous evaluation and improvements of instructional media and technology resources.
