- Developing a stakeholder engagement framework to enhance women's participation in the basketball union of Zimbabwe national basketball championship in Zimbabwe
- Abstract
- This study aims to develop a stakeholder engagement framework to enhance women’s participation in the BUZ National Championships in Zimbabwe. Employing a mixed methods approach, the research utilized random sampling for quantitative data collection and purposive sampling for qualitative insights. The findings reveal significant barriers to women’s participation in basketball, including entrenched cultural norms and limited access to resources. Additionally, the study underscores the effectiveness of targeted stakeholder engagement strategies in addressing these challenges. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, this research contributes valuable insights to sports management and advances theoretical discourse in gender studies. The proposed framework offers actionable recommendations for sports administrators and advocacy groups seeking to promote gender equity in Zimbabwean basketball.
