- Abstract
- This dissertation examines the impacts of gross domestic violence on the socio-economic growth in Zimbabwe. The purpose of the study is to investigate the multifaceted effects of domestic violence on key socio-economic indicators and provide insights into the consequences for the overall development of the country. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of existing data and qualitative interviews with survivors, policymakers, and relevant stakeholders. The findings reveal that domestic violence has significant detrimental effects on various socio-economic aspects, including health, education, labour productivity, and economic participation. Moreover, the study uncovers the interplay between domestic violence and broader social issues such as gender inequality and poverty, exacerbating the negative impacts. The conclusions drawn from the analysis emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive interventions addressing domestic violence in order to foster sustainable economic growth and social development in Zimbabwe. The recommendations put forth include the implementation of robust legal frameworks, increased awareness campaigns, provision of support services for survivors, and the promotion of gender equality across all spheres of society. By addressing domestic violence holistically, Zimbabwe can pave the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future.
