- Abstract
- The study aimed to explore the impact of mobile learning apps on student engagement and motivation at Mauya Adventist High School. The study utilized a mixed method research design, which allowed the researcher to ask in-depth questions on human behavior and have a comprehensive grasp of the issue from a holistic perspective. The design utilized a variety of data collection approaches. Purposive sampling was employed in the selection of heads of department and biology teachers, while stratified random sampling was employed in the selection of student respondents. Data were gathered using semi-structured interviews, observation guides, and questionnaires. Findings revealed that there are several negative factors like limited access to smartphones for all students, unstable internet connectivity, distractions from non-educational mobile content. The study recommends that there should be investment in digital infrastructure, including equitable device access and reliable internet connectivity, is critical to bridging socioeconomic gaps in mobile learning adoption.
