Geometric transformations are a fundamental topic in secondary mathematics, but students often struggle to develop a deep conceptual understanding of the underlying principles. This study investigates how the use of the dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra can help overcome common issues students face when learning about translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations. The research employed a quasi-experimental design, including pre-test and post-tests, classroom observations, and student interviews. Participants were 50 Sandringham high school form 3 mathematics students who were randomly assigned to either a control group using traditional instructional methods or an experimental group that utilized GeoGebra based lessons and activities. The results indicate that the GeoGebra, enabled instruction had a significant positive impact on student learning. The experimental group demonstrated greater gains in their ability to accurately identify, describe, and perform geometric transformations compared to the control group. Quantitative data revealed that GeoGebra's dynamic visualization, interactive features, and multiple representational capabilities were particularly helpful in developing students' conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. The findings suggest that incorporating GeoGebra into the teaching of geometric transformations can be an effective strategy for overcoming common student difficulties in this area of mathematics. Implications for educational practice and directions for future research are discussed.
