- Abstract
- The study explored learner’s perceptions on the effectiveness of flipped classroom approach in the teaching and learning of O level Biology at Domboramwari High School. A qualitative case study was used. Data were gathered through interviews and focus group discussion with twelve form four biology learners purposively sampled from one selected secondary school which was convenient to the researcher. Thematic data analysis was used. This result of the study indicated that flipped classroom approach was effective in allowing learners to study and prepare for their lessons. The study also found that the implementation of flipped classroom model is affected by inadequate ICT resources. Teachers and learners lack skills in using flipped classroom. The study recommended for the need to train teachers in ICT integration as well as assisting learners in operating digital gadgets which is key in flipped classroom.
