The purpose of the study was to identify the challenges faced by Mathematics teachers in adopting ICT into their teaching practices and explore effective strategies for integrating ICT in Mathematics Education. Mixed methods approach, informed by pragmatism, was used and
the research strategy employed was a case study. The school consists of 765 students and 25
teachers, including the headmaster, making the population for this study a total of 790
individuals. Selection of teachers was done using purposive sampling and students using
convenient sampling. Questionnaire, Interviews and Observations were used for data collection
in this research study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to report common
perceptions. Qualitative data was analyzed using themes drawn from the research questions (a
priori themes). Findings revealed that effective ICT adoption is mainly hindered by shortage
of ICT tools, limited access to functional computers, insufficient internet connectivity, lack of
expertise in most teachers, negative attitudes towards the use of ICT in Mathematics
classrooms and lack of skilled personnel to operate and manage the technologies. The study
found out that Mathematics teachers can use the following strategies to mitigate against the
challenges. The teachers can persuade the administration to engage parents to contribute to a
tablet fund. The school to implement the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for teacher
training and create a more positive attitude. The school can utilize project-based fundraising
and explore alternative funding sources. They should develop a school technology plan. They
should encourage community involvement by engaging with the local community to support
technology integration. The school should leverage free or open-source resource. The school
should prioritize teacher support and training. The school should try to monitor progress and
evaluate impact. - Date
