-
This study examined the assessment on the use of ICT in teaching and learning of physics at ordinary level. The quantitative method was adopted for this study; this is to enable the researcher achieve the purpose of the study which is purely investigative research. The population of the study covered the entire teachers, heads and students (both males and females) in the area of study. Out of this population (103) people comprising (5) headmasters and (78) students used as sample was selected for the study; using random sampling technique. The instruments used to collect data for the study was interviews, document analysis, questionnaire and lesson observation schedule. On the basis of the findings made in the study, we conclude that teachers have a positive attitude towards use of ICT in teaching and learning of physics. While positive attitude of teachers is expected to increase ICT uptake in schools, barriers such as inadequate skills to integrate ICT in physics lessons and insufficient time to plan for ICT integrated lessons among others could be a hindrance. Consequently, based on the findings made in this study, we recommended that the school managers look into ways and means of sourcing for more facilities especially computers, LCD projectors, Internet connection, digital and video cameras and also teachers should capitalize
on the favorable attitude the learners have towards ICT use in the teaching and learning of physics. This could enhance learners understanding of concepts in the subject and this will motivate them to pursue physics related courses to higher levels - Date
