- Abstract
- The research study focused mainly on the influence of employee turnover on organizational performance and focusing on the case study of Nemchem International Zimbabwe. The research study had four major objectives; to identify factors influencing employee labour turnover within Nemchem International, Zimbabwe, to determine the implications of staff turnover on organizational performance, to determine the costs associated with employee turnover and to recommend alternative practices of reducing employee labour turnover at Nemchem International, Zimbabwe. In relation to the researcher objectives, the researcher reviewed and discussed existing literature which was published in academic journals with various international scholars, practitioners and researchers. Literature noted that, due to leadership styles, job satisfaction levels, demographic factors and factors employees are leaving and joining corporate organizations. The research study adopted purposive sampling method and targeted population was purposively selected so as to come up with a sample size. The participants of the study comprised of employees at Nemchem International Zimbabwe. The researcher used both primary and secondary sources of data. Questionnaires were the main source of collecting primary data from the targeted study participants. Data was presented, analysed, interpreted and discusses using tables, pie charts and graphs. The research discovered that, to effectively reduce employee turnover at Nemchem there is need to; engage in robust, performance-oriented, strategic leadership and staff development programs, wider employee engagement and stakeholder engagement program, organizational alignment program to support the performance management system and ensure integration of Nemchem departments, humanize Nemchem International Zimbabwe workplaces through embracing principles of humanistic psychology, invest heavily in customized skills development programs, leaders need to be humans again and adopt an OD (organization development) to culture transformation.
