Whilst mobile phone penetration is known to be high amongst working class in any sectors including education, their use has been widely associated with making calls, messaging, as a digital bridge to ones bank account and mostly socializing in social platforms such as WhatsApp, u-tube, telegram, Tik Tok and Instagram. Little is known about technology
integration in the teaching and learning of Chemistry by teachers in Mhondoro-Ngezi district. It is against this background that the study sought to investigate the challenges that affect technology integration in the classroom with special reference to Chemistry. A qualitative approach was used. Seven people were interviewed which included three teachers and three
learners and one administrators who were purposively selected. The research found out that the integration of technologies is affected by the lack of resources, lack of software, machines
incompatibility and lack of teacher expertise are the major challenges that hinders the use of technology in teaching. It was recommended that schools should provide up to date software as well as hardware and make sure the available tools are well serviced. They should also ensure that the tools and internet are made accessible to both teachers and learners.
