The study was conducted to find out what are the factors associated with the shortage of advanced level physics teachers. The study was carried out considering nine high schools in Mashonaland province. Information was gathered from nine schools and it was then analyzed and presented in tables, graphs and pie charts. A large number of factors have been raised from different schools. The researcher moved on in finding the solutions on how to increase the number of advanced level teachers in physics as a subject as well the benefits to the educational sector if the number is being increased in Mashonaland province. The study also recommends
that there should be measures to enhance student motivation towards physics.
