- Abstract
- This project sought to gain insight on the application instructional participatory methodologies at Nyakuipa High School. The researcher adopted the qualitative approach for data generation, analysis and discussion. The researcher used tests, observations and an interview. In this study there were four females and one male teacher who participated in this study. Thematic analysis was used to analyses data from observations and the interviews made. The major themes of this study were derived from the research questions. This study reviewed that participatory methodologies are the best methods to be use is applied properly. The researcher recommended that the teacher must properly use the participatory methodologies and avoid the lecture method since it deprives learners from mastering the concepts. Classroom environment should be conducive and also the policy makers should review and revisit mathematics curriculum in order to incorporate the proper mathematics approaches that emphasizes problem solving skills as well as collaboration.
