- In this case study 33 students were interrogated using a questionnaire, 3 teachers interviewed using questionnaires and interviews to establish the management and integration of critical thinking skills in the teaching and learning of biology at Govarizadze Secondary School in Zvishavane district in the Midlands province in Zimbabwe. This research looked at the different critical thinking skills, methods used in effecting critical thinking skills and how critical thinking skills can be integrated in the teaching and learning of science at Govarizadze secondary school in Zvishavane District. This study established that integrating critical thinking skills at Govarizadze helped improve teaching and learning of biology at Govarizadze secondary school in Zvishavane district. It came out that teachers who used and encouraged critical thinking interpreted the curriculum well, used problem based learning, which encourages learners to investigate real-world problems and develop solutions, encouraged inquiry based learning. Learners in classes in which teachers encouraged critical thinking skills understood biology concepts better. Chiefly, the management and integration of critical thinking skills in the teaching of learning at Govarixadze secondary, was found to improve lesson delivery, by science teachers, it made learning interesting as it involved learners thereby improving their approach and understanding of biology concepts. However there were varying gaps due to the time factor for many areas of biology teaching and learning could have been explored at a wide scale.
