- Abstract
- This study, titled An assessment on the integration of blended learning methods in the teaching and learning of physics at ordinary level,‖ examines the impact of blended learning in three Mangwe district secondary schools. It aims to assess how these methods affect student engagement and learning outcomes in physics, a subject where traditional teaching methods have struggled to maintain student interest. Through a qualitative multi-case study, incorporating interviews, observations, and focus group discussions, the research offers insights into the experiences of students and educators with blended learning. The thematic analysis of data reveals that blended learning boosts student engagement by providing interactive, flexible, and accessible educational content, which supports diverse learning styles and promotes critical thinking. Despite its benefits, the study identifies challenges such as technical limitations, insufficient teacher training, and resistance to new teaching methods. To overcome these, it recommends infrastructure investment, development of interactive content, personalized learning pathways, and community engagement. These strategies aim to create an inclusive and effective learning environment. Overall, the research highlights the transformative potential of blended learning in physics education, suggesting that with the right support and resources, it can significantly improve student outcomes. The study‘s recommendations for the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education emphasize the need for technological advancement and pedagogical innovation to realize the full benefits of blended learning.
