- This study investigated teachers' preparedness to integrate school-based projects at the primary school level. The objectives of the study were to determine the level of teachers' preparedness, identify training and support needs, and examine teachers' attitudes towards project-based learning. The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis methods within the pragmatic paradigm. The sample consisted of 30 primary school teachers selected from 10 primary schools in Mbire District using stratified proportional random sampling. The major findings of the study revealed that teachers lacked the necessary training and support to effectively integrate school-based projects, despite their positive attitudes towards project-based learning. The study found that 100% of teachers required training programs to enhance their skills in integrating school-based projects. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the Ministry of Education provide comprehensive training programs, mentorship initiatives, and ongoing support to build teachers' confidence and competences. Further studies can investigate the impact of project-based learning on student learning outcomes and explore strategies for scaling up project-based learning in primary schools.
