- Abstract
- This is a study on "Analysing Pupils’ Errors in Learning Algebra at form two level". The main objective of the study was to identify the root cause of pupils’ errors when simplifying algebraic expressions at form 2 level and to explore the strategies that reduces pupils’ errors in learning algebra. The research questions were how do students perceive learning algebra? What are the reasons behind students’ weak in learning algebra? What are the factors behind students’ error in learning algebra at basic level? This research was qualitative research which was based on phenomenology research design. Research site was Firm Foundation Christian Academy which is located in Borrowdale area under Harare province. As respondent of this study was from only from form 2. The major tools used for the study were three exercises, an achievement test and interviews conducted on one on one situation with respondents.
