The Effects of different watering frequencies on the early growth stages of soyabeans
- Abstract
- Soyabean is an important crop cultivated worldwide, providing essential nutrition for both humans and animals. This study examines the influence of different watering frequencies on the early-stage growth of soya bean plants using a Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD) experiment. The experiment spanned four months and involved subjecting soya bean plants to varied watering schedules, including daily, every three days, weekly, and every ten days. Various growth parameters, including the height of the plants, the area of their leaves, the quantity of dry matter, and the quantity of leaves per plant, were measured and analysed. The results indicate that watering frequency significantly affects the growth and output of soya beans. Crops receiving daily watering exhibited higher growth rates and outperformed those with less frequent watering in all measured parameters. The study also highlights the importance of optimal watering regimes to maximise soya bean production while emphasizing the need for water conservation and sustainable agricultural practices. These findings provide valuable insights for farmers and agricultural practitioners aiming to enhance soya bean production through efficient water management strategies.
