- Abstract
- This study explored the impact of Integrated Management Systems, with a focus on ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, on business performance at Willdale Limited in Mt Hampden, Zvimba, Zimbabwe. ISO 9001 was globally recognized for enhancing product and service quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Despite its adoption in Zimbabwe’s manufacturing sector, there was limited empirical evidence on its practical outcomes in local industries. Using a case study design and a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires, interviews with key personnel, and analysis of organizational documents. The findings indicated that ISO 9001 had significantly improved operational processes, reduced production errors, and enhanced customer satisfaction, thereby contributing to improved financial performance. However, the study also revealed challenges such as resource constraints and employee resistance during implementation. The research concluded that ISO 9001 had positively influenced business performance when fully embraced, and recommended continuous training, top management commitment, and periodic reviews to sustain quality standards. These findings were valuable for organizations considering ISO certification and for policymakers seeking to strengthen industrial competitiveness in Zimbabwe.
