This study investigates the environmental impacts of cement production by Khayah Cement Company on the Eastview community in Harare, with particular focus on fugitive dust emissions and associated environmental and health effects. Cement production plays a critical role in socio-economic development; however, it poses significant environmental challenges, including air pollution, land degradation, and water contamination. Guided by clearly defined research objectives and questions, the study explores the extent of these impacts and identifies possible mitigation measures. Adopting a qualitative research approach grounded in the constructivist paradigm and phenomenological design, data were collected through structured interviews and focus group discussions involving community members, environmental advocates, and educators. The findings reveal widespread dust accumulation, deteriorating air quality, noise pollution, and inadequate enforcement of environmental regulations. The study recommends improved regulatory oversight, adoption of dust-control technologies, and strengthened collaboration among industry, government, and community stakeholders to promote environmentally sustainable cement production and protect community well being.
