- This research project examined the impacts of BBS interventions in improving workplace safety in a rapidly growing company. As organizations expand, ensuring the strength of a safety culture is critical to reduce the risks associated with growing workforces and more complex operations. The study used a hybrid design, integrating quantitative data from safety performance indicators like incident rates and near-miss reports with qualitative insights gathered from employee surveys and interviews. It explored the effects of BBS on employee safety awareness, behavioural changes, and overall safety outcomes. Key findings indicate significant gaps in employee awareness, with 16% unaware of safety procedures and 41.3% citing lack of awareness as a barrier to participation. Furthermore, only 30.7% rated leadership responses as prompt and effective. Preliminary results suggest that targeted BBS interventions notably reduce unsafe behaviours and promote a proactive safety culture, despite challenges like employee resistance and resource allocation. Regression analysis revealed a weak predictive power of leadership and training on engagement (R² = .079), indicating the potential impact of unmeasured cultural factors. Recommendations include customized training, increased leadership accountability, anonymous feedback systems, and cultural audits. These findings offered valuable insights for fast-growing companies aiming to implement scalable safety interventions and contribute to the broader conversation on sustainable workplace safety practices.
