- Abstract
- This project presents the design and implementation of a smart voice-activated elevator system that enables hands-free control and improves accessibility for users, including individuals with physical limitations. The system is developed using an ESP32 microcontroller, which integrates with an ultrasonic sensor to detect the presence of a user and initiate the voice control process. Upon detection, the system records the user's voice input, which is then transmitted to a web-based application for transcription. The recognized command is processed and translated into elevator control actions such as floor selection and movement initiation. A relay-controlled Direct Contact (DC) motor simulates the elevator cabin's movement, while a directional logic interface governs the motor's rotation—clockwise or anticlockwise—based on the intended floor. Additional components such as Light Emitting Diode (LED) provide user feedback and interface flexibility. The design emphasizes safety, hygiene, and modern control by eliminating the need for physical button presses. Integration of embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT) communication, and real-time sensor input demonstrates the system’s practical applicability in smart infrastructure. The final prototype was tested in a simulated environment, and the results confirm that the system successfully detects user presence, captures and processes voice commands, and controls elevator movement accordingly. This project contributes to the advancement of intelligent automation in public infrastructure, offering a scalable and adaptable solution for smart building.
