- Abstract
- We construct Schrödinger real and imaginary cat states by superposing the coherent states |𝛼〉 and |𝛼∗〉 and study the photon statistics of the superpositions. The photon distribution function (PDF) exhibits an oscillatory character. The physical phenomenon responsible for the resulting PDF is the quantum interference between the superposing components.
